A trip to the Watford City Post Office on Sept. 1 to pick up a package didn’t turn out quite the way Tim Bourne had planned it.
Instead of merely picking up his package and heading back home, Bourne was met by two agents of the Northwest Narcotics Task Force who promptly arrested him on charges of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver, a Class B felony.
According to Slade Herfindahl, Watford City police chief, Bourne’s package contained six pounds of marijuana which has a street value of $7,200.
Following the arrest of Bourne, 42, of Watford City, law enforcement authorities received a search warrant to search the home of Joseph Rocha, 33, and Marie Rolla, 27, at 129 5th Street NE in Watford City that resulted in the arrests of Rocha and Rolla on drug charges.
“This was an outstanding team effort,” stated Herfindahl. “We had great cooperation between the Northwest Narcotics Task Force, the U.S Postal Service and the Watford City Police Department in making these arrests.”
In addition to being charged with felony drug possession with intent to deliver charges, Bourne was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Marijuana, a Class A Misdemeanor and Ingesting a Controlled Substance, a Class A Misdemeanor.
Rocha was charged with Criminal Conspiracy – Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver, a Class B Felony; Possession of a Controlled Substance - Psilocybin (Mushrooms), a Class C Felony; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Marijuana, a Class A Misdemeanor; and Possession of a Controlled Substance – Marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor. Rolla was charged with Criminal Conspiracy – Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver, a Class B Felony; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Marijuana, a Class A Misdemeanor; and  and Possession of a Controlled Substance – Marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor.
