Walleye score 32 runs to sweep Renville County

Watford City scored an amazing 32 runs as the Walleye pounded the Renville County Muskrats 11-1 and 21-0 in two five-inning games on Monday, June 20.
With the win over the Muskrats, the Walleye have clinched the No. 1 seed in the Section 6 Tournament which will be held July 19-23 in Crosby. Watford City’s season record stands at 12-0 overall and 10-0 in league play.
The next action for Watford City will be on July 8-10 when they compete in the Glendive Tournament, and then wrap up their regular season play when the Walleye hosts Glendive on July 13.

Watford City scored 11 runs on 14 hits as the Walleye dominated the first game of double-header action against the Renville County Muskrats.
Watford City scored three runs in the top of the first inning and then never looked back. The Walleye cruised to the win scoring two runs in the second inning, one run in the fourth inning and five runs in the fifth.
Douglas Rolfson earned the win on the mound for Watford City as he struck out nine batters while giving up five hits and two walks.
Three Watford City players, Trey Jacobson, Douglas Rolfson and Douglas Nordby, hit home runs in the games, while Chaz Mosby, Nick Liebel, Jacobson, Rolfson and Chris Larsen all had doubles.
And if the Walleye thought things were going their way in the first game, things got even better in the second game.
Watford City batters connected for three more home runs, including a grand slam by Douglas Rolfson, to score an impressive 21 runs on 22 hits to shut out the Muskrats.
Trey Jacobson picked up the win on the mound for Watford City, striking out seven batters and giving up one walk in three innings of work.
Rolfson, who was three for four at the plate, drove in five runs for Watford City, while Douglas Nordby was two for three with a pair of homers that drove in three runs. Pounding out the other home run for Watford City was Jacobson, who went four out of five at the plate.
