Spikers open with big win over Killdeer

The Watford City varsity girls volleyball team opened its 2011 campaign in a very strong fashion last Tuesday defeating the Killdeer Cowboys in three quick games.
This week, the Wolves will be at New Town on Thursday before hosting an invitational tournament on Saturday.

Watford City had 12 service aces and 22 kills as the Wolves rolled over the Killdeer Cowboys in three games last Tuesday.
“Our girls were ready to play and it showed,” stated Nancy Deutsch, Wolves’ head coach. “They had so much energy in the match and they never backed off.”
The Wolves won the first game of the match, 25-14, and then took the next two games, 25-12 and 25-17.
“Killdeer had trouble with our serves and hits,” stated Deutsch. “Whenever they would move on defense, we pounded the ball to the open court.”
McKayla Haugeberg led the Wolves with four service aces and 12 digs, while Brianna Allex had three aces and nine kills.
