Fridley named Male Coach of the Year

Fred Fridley, head coach of the Watford City Wolves football team,  was named the 2009 Male Co-Coach of the Year by the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.
Fridley led the Watford City Wolves to the Class 2A state championship. In the title game, the Wolves defeated top-ranked Valley City 40-20. Watford City finished the season with an 11-1 record, winning its final 10 games.
Fridley coached six first-team, all-state players.
Sharing this year’s Male Co-Coach of the Year honors with Fridley was Mike Peluso with the Bismarck hockey team.
