Watford City’s cross country teams competed in Dickinson on Saturday in the Becki Wells Invitational, which featured the top Class A and B teams in western North Dakota. And Greg Brown, Wolves’ head coach, was pleased with the times that his runners turned in.
“I am extremely proud of all of these athletes,” stated Brown. “We split our athletes up between the different divisions trying to push them harder through the races, and it was exciting to see every athlete improve their times from the previous week.”
Asha Smith, who took fifth in Saturday’s girls varsity division, was the top Class B finisher with a time of 15:58.
In the boys junior varsity division, Osman Leon placed 92nd with a time of 22:59 followed by Jack Gillesepy in 96th in 23.11.
