Spikers fall to Ray

It was a rough week for Watford City’s varsity volleyball team as the Wolves fell to Ray in dual action and then finished in fourth place in the Bronze Division at the Dickinson Tournament.
The Wolves hope to get back on track this week with a couple of road wins. Watford City travels to Parshall on Thursday and will be at Williston Trinity Christian next Monday night.
Ray 3, Watford City 0
Watford City dropped three quick games to an always strong Ray volleyball team last Tuesday. The Wolves dropped the first game, 25-9, but came back to play better in the final two games of the match. In the last two games, the Wolves fell to the Jays, 25-20, and 25-17.
Alli Mogen led the Wolves with one ace, while Kara Langerud had six kills. Defensively, Amanda Mogen led the Wolves with 16 digs.

Dickinson Tournament
Watford City went 0-3 in pool play of the Dickinson Tournament this past weekend to end up playing in the Bronze Division. The Wolves fell to Billings Senior, 25-14, 25-11 and 25-9, in opening pool play and then lost 2-1 to Mandan. In the final match of pool play, the Wolves dropped three games to Dickinson Trinity, 25-14, 25-22 and 25-14.
In tournament action, the Wolves opened the Bronze Division action with a 2-1 win over Glendive with Watford City dropping the first game, 26-24, before coming back to take the next two games, 25-20, and 25-15.
The Wolves would then win their opening game against Sidney, 25-15, but then lose their next two games, 25-19, and 25-21.
In the battle for third place in the Bronze Division, the Wolves fell to Williston Trinity Christian, 26-24, and 25-20.
