Golf teams finish 13th at State

Watford City’s boys and girls varsity golf teams wrapped up their golf seasons this past week competing at their state tournaments. Both teams finished in 13th place with the boys competing at Fargo’s Rose Creek Golf Course, while the girls competed at Carrington’s Cross Roads Golf Course.
Mitchell Liebel led the boys team with a tie for 48th place with an 18-hole score of 172, while Jonathon Dunn finished in 54th place with a score of 173.
Rounding out the scores for the boys team was Colter Maki, who tied for 60th with a score of 175; Charles Villanueva, 66th with a score of 177; Korbin Knutson, 101st with a score of 194; and Cody Johnson, 116th with a score of 208.
For the girls team, Jordan Sparby led the way for the Wolves with a 42nd place finish with a score of 192, while Abby McCauley finished in 62nd place with a score of 205.
Also placing for the girls team was Sydney Slais, who finished 77th with a score of 211; Kasi Sorenson, 78th with a score of 212; Kendra Foreman, 106th with a score of 237; and Olivia Gronos, 107th with a score of 238.
