The Watford City girls golf team opened its 2010 season with good showings this past week as the Wolves took third place with a score of 456 at the Hazen Invitational and then placed second with a score of 421 at the Stanley Invitational.
This week, the Wolves will be hosting a tournament on Saturday and then traveling to the Beach Invitational at Bully Pulpit.
In the Hazen Invitational, Emilie Anderson paced the Wolves with a ninth place finish with a score of 104, while at Stanley, Anderson finished in tenth place with a score of 99.
“The girls are getting better each week as they get more playing time,” stated LeRoy Bettenhausen, girls’ head coach. “As a team, we improved by 35 strokes from our first match at Hazen to the Stanley meet. I expect to see the girls getting more and competitive as the season progresses.”
