Liebel qualifies for State Golf Tourney

Nick Liebel carded a 76 to win medalist honors as well as qualify for the State Class B Boys Golf Tournament at the Trinity Christian Invitational last week. The meet was also the boys’ region qualifying event in which any golfer who scored a 79 or better automatically qualified for the State Tournament which will be held in Carrington on June 1 and 2.
“Nick shot very well at Eagle Ridge,” stated Scott Wisness, Wolves’ head coach. “Eagle Ridge is longer and more difficult than other courses we have seen.”
The Wolves took fourth at the meet with a team score of 356. Also competing for the Wolves was Chris Larsen, 87; Colter Maki, 95; Mitchell Liebel, 98; and Alex Hansen, 102.
The Watford City boys also competed in the Washburn Invitational on Saturday where the Wolves took fourth with a team score of 370.
Nick Liebel took third place honors with a score of 79, while Chris Larsen shot an 89 followed by Colter Maki, 94; Mitchell Liebel, 108; and Alex Hansen, 114.
