Frances Weltikol

Frances Laverne Weltikol, 72, of Watford City died Friday, May 3, 2013, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Watford City. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Watford City, N.D. Pastor John Lane officiated and interment was at the Schafer Cemetery in Watford City.
She became a resident of the Good Shepherd Nursing Home last December after a fall. She was born in Crossville, Ill., on June 1, 1940, the daughter of the late John Philander and Girlie Louella Treat Reynolds. In 1952, she moved with her family to Ray, N.D., where her parents owned and operated Reynolds Dry Cleaners.
Frances was an avid craftswoman. She loved crocheting, painting, quilting and pottery. She was the former owner of a small ceramic shop in Mattawa, Wash. In her retirement, she relocated back to North Dakota. These past few years allowed her to enjoy the companionship of her two sisters and many friends in the Williston and Watford City areas.
She leaves behind four children, Jimmy D. Covington (Maria) of Austin, Texas; Nancy A. Covington of Moyie Springs, Idaho; John S. Covington of Juneau, Alaska, and Franklin M. Covington (Kashlyn) of Vernon, Conn. She was blessed with ten grandchildren, Eric, Jonathan, Patrick, Tabatha, Sarah, Martha, Felicia (Guidry), Michael, Neil, Colin; and seven great-grand children. She is also survived by a brother, Bobby G. Reynolds (Patricia) of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Joann V. Wash and Judith K. Mayer of Watford City, N.D.; and many nieces and nephews.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents; a brother-in-law, Lawrence Kueffler; and a niece, Andrea Reynolds.
