Clarence Jorgenson

Clarence (Kelly) E. Jorgenson, 83, of Watford City, N.D., died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck, N. D. Funeral arrangements are pending with Fulkerson Funeral Home of Watford City.
Clarence (Kelly) E. Jorgenson was born on Oct. 15, 1929, near Demmick Lake on the Jorgenson homestead, son of Gust and Serina Jorgenson, Norwegian immigrants. Kelly was the youngest of eight brothers and two sisters, all who preceded him in death. Pastor Haktor Moe baptized him Jan. 2, 1932, at Clear Creek Church. He was united in marriage for 62 years to Hazel Olson.
 Kelly ranched in McKenzie and Dunn Counties, and enjoyed that life. He trained horses for work and saw success at showing them. He loved animals, especially Rudy, his cow dog. As well, he had a special ability to see a project or tool in his mind’s eye, and then construct it. Kelly also enjoyed the winters he spent training horses in Arizona
Kelly was a 55-year member of the North Dakota Stockman’s Association and the American Quarter Horse Association.
Kelly ranched with Hazel’s parents, Gordon and Inga Olson, and later took over the ranch. Kelly lived, worshiped and loved the beauty of the badlands, God’s country.
Kelly is survived by his wife, Hazel of Watford City; son, Gary (Carolyn) Billings, Mont., son, Steven, Watford City, N.D.; daughter, Barbara (Don) Brezavar, Lenexa, Kan., daughter, JoAnne (Chris) Jones, Castle Pines, Colo,; six grandchildren, Shane Jorgenson, Billings, Mont., Sarah Jorgenson, Beaverton, Ore., Donald Brezavar II and Daniel Brezavar both of Kansas City, Mo., Erik Jones, Tembegapura, Indonesia, and Greg Jones, Sheridan, Wyo.; great-grandchildren, Hailey Jorgenson, Billings, Mont., Kaine, Gage and Jaegar Peters, Beaverton, Ore.
