Clara Johnson

Clara Mae (Thomas) Johnson, 88, a loving sister, grandmother, great -grandmother and awesome mom passed away on June 28, 2009, at her home in Athol, Idaho.
Clara was born in Watford City, N.D., April 9, 1921, and married Harold Johnson on Nov. 12, 1941 in Kalispell, Mont. She lived most of her life in northwestern Montana.  She had several jobs throughout her life but her greatest joy was raising her family and tending her garden.
Each family gathering she was usually in the center of everything but if she disappeared you could find her weeding the flower beds or garden, no matter whose house we were at. For the last 10 years, she lived in Idaho with her daughter, Laura, where she enjoyed working outside in her beautiful garden.
She is survived by three sisters, Eva Sanford, Esther Stewart and Barbara Jorgenson all of Watford City, N.D.; two brothers, Marvin Thomas, Las Alamitos, Calif., and Ralph Thomas of Lynden, Wash.; seven children: Larry Johnson, Post Falls, Idaho, Phyllis Harvey, Everson, Wash., Marlene Byrer, Denver, Colo., Myrna Bumgarner, Marysville, Wash., Joann Marron, Margate, Fla., Jeffrey Johnson, Columbus, Mont., and Laura Kincella, Athol, Idaho.; 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Clara was preceded in death by parents, George O. and Lilly Margaret Griebel Thomas; husband, Harold Johnson; brothers, George O. Thomas Jr., Roy Thomas and Floyd Thomas; sisters, Lillian Grace Knight, Florence Johnson, Vivian Beckman, Hazel Elnor Johnson and grandchildren, Dawn Marie Kincella, Kitrena Lyn Kincella and Karl Joe Byrer.
Clara lived a full and wonderful life and had no regrets. She will forever be remembered and greatly missed.  She loved the Lord and we know that the gardens in heaven have never been tended so well.
