Arlene Isaak

Arlene Isaak of Arnegard, N.D., died June 6, 2014, in Bismarck, N.D., as the result of an automobile accident near Arnegard. As per her request, cremation has taken place. A private family service will take place at a later date at Schafer Cemetery in Watford City, N.D.
Arlene Lillian Hagen was born June 29, 1926, in Williston, N.D., to J.G. (Johnny) Hagen and Lillie Christiansen Hagen of Watford City, N.D.
When she was two weeks old she came to McKenzie County via the ferry. The Lewis and Clark Bridge was completed the following year.
On Dec. 4, 1943, Arlene was married to Carl Schultz of Arnegard. In 1944 she graduated from Watford City High School with highest honors. Through the years they operated a grain and purebred livestock farm near Arnegard.
During their marriage Arlene was employed in administration in several government offices. She was active in the Wilmington Lutheran Church serving as secretary-treasurer for 15 years and 16 years as a Sunday school teacher. She was active in homemakers clubs and was a 4-H leader for many years. She also served as secretary-treasurer for the N.D. Brown Swiss Association. Arlene also performed in several Watford City Lions Follies.  This marriage ended in divorce in 1989.
Arlene married Raymond Isaak, of Bismarck, Sept. 1, 1990.
Arlene was a member of 50 Years in the Saddle and held various offices through the years. She also sang with the Heritage Choir and met with “the girls” (high school classmates) once a month for coffee and visiting.
Arlene had just finished writing a production for the Watford City Centennial that will be performed later this month. It is entitled, “The Way It Was - Watford City History Thru Music.”
Arlene is survived by a daughter, Renny (Gary) Hagen and two granddaughters, Valerie and Allison of Arnegard; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by Carl and Raymond and her parents.
