Ardell Rogness

Memorial services for Ardell K. Rogness, 80 of Watford City, N.D, are at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at the First Lutheran Church in Watford City with Pastor Rob Favorite officiating.  Ardell’s cremains will be interred at 1:00 p.m., in the Cherry Cemetery, Watford City, N.D.
Ardell K Rogness was born on July 16, 1933, to Severen “Ben” and Minnie (Hayes) Rogness in Arnegard, ND. He grew up and attended country schools south of Arnegard.
Ardell and Joyce Boots were united in marriage on June 26, 1954, and to this union they had a son, Raymond.  Ardell worked in the oilfield for many years and also drove truck for the Farmer Union Coop Station.  He and his wife, Joyce owned and operated the City Bar for 18 years.
Ardell loved horses and belonged to the Long X Wagon Train for many years.  He liked to play darts, tickets, and was a charter member of the Eagles Club. Ardell especially enjoyed his winters in Arizona, visiting with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ardell died on Thursday morning, June 26, 2014, at the McKenzie County Hospital, Watford City.
Ardell is survived by: his wife of 60 years, Joyce Rogness, Watford City, N.D.; his son, Raymond “Tinky” Rogness, Watford City, N.D.; his grandchildren, Heather (Ryan) Okland, Jenna (Kyle) Phelphs, and Skyler Rogness; and his great grandchildren, Chase and Teigan Okland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lyle, Myron, and Gerald.
