Elizabeth Engebrit

Elizabeth Engebrit, 91, of Watford City, N.D., died Thursday, Aug 27, 2015.
Elizabeth was born, on April 11, 1924, in Berwick, N.D., the daughter of Frank and Theresa (Wald) Sr.  She was raised and educated in Berwick.  At the age of 14, she worked for her father at Sitter Motor Sales, which her father owned in Berwick.
On October 26, 1942, Elizabeth was united in marriage to Helmer Engebrit at Rugby, N.D. The couple lived in Berwick and later in Barton, N.D., where they started their family.  In 1947 the family moved to the Watford City area and lived on a farm south of Watford City, and later moved into Watford City.  Elizabeth worked at Lundin Drug in Watford City as a clerk for 18 years, starting in 1952. She also worked for a short time at the Clifton Fairway Grocery Store in Watford City and later worked in housekeeping for the McKenzie County Memorial Hospital.
Helmer passed away on February 26, 2005 and Elizabeth continued to live in Watford City since. Elizabeth entered the Good Shepherd Home in 2006.
Elizabeth was known for her baking abilities, making doughnuts, cookies, caramel rolls, and bars. She also loved gardening and canning.
She was a member of the Epiphany Catholic Church in Watford City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Peter and Frank Sitter, Jr, a son-in-law, Robert Voeller and a grandson, Tubby Hammeren.
She is survived by her four daughters; Patty (Cecil) Wilson, Bonnie (Allen) Hammeren, Marla (Corky) Hayden all of Watford City and Donna Voeller of West Fargo, N.D., eleven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, two sisters; Sister Victorine Sitter and Sister Agnes Sitter, both Catholic nuns in Minnesota.
In accordance with Elizabeth wishes, a private funeral service will be held and burial will be in the Schafer Cemetery, Watford City.
