Mildred Wollan

Mrs. Lynn (Mildred) Wollan, 94, of Watford City, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Nursing Home in Watford City.
Mildred was born July 28, 1921 to Oscar and Helen (Thompson) Felland in rural Charlson, N.D. She was one of seven children. Mildred attended grade school near her childhood home, and high school in Sanish, N.D. After high school, she worked in the homes of some of the local farmers. It was during this time that she met Lynn Wollan, a local boy. They courted for a period of time and without the knowledge of her parents they went to Sidney, Mont. and were married on Sept. 7, 1939.
While raising a family of five, she worked at the McKenzie County Hospital in housekeeping and later worked for Alfred Nordeng in his butcher shop. Mildred enjoyed camping and fishing with her family, a highlight in her life was when she caught a 22 lb., 45” Northern Pike. After her family grew up, Mildred and Lynn enjoyed traveling to visit their families across the United States.
Mildred enjoyed 71 years of marriage with her “Sweetheart” Lynn.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lynn; her parents; her brothers, Omar and Charles (Punky); her sisters, Doris and Delores; her son-in-law, Barry Nelson; and grandson Jeff Nelson.
Mildred is survived by her children, Linda (Barry) Nelson, David (Myrna), Cornell (Laurel), Miles (Sandra), Arden (Pyong); her sister Gladys (Lester) Wisness; her brother,  Victor Felland; and numerous grand and great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at the Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home Chapel in Watford City, N.D. Pastor Rob Favorite officiated. Burial took place in the family lot at Schafer Cemetery, Watford City.
