Cyril Sannes

Cyril Sannes, 94, of Billings, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, Oct. 30, at Valley Healthcare Center.
Cyril was born in Banks, N.D., on June 29, 1916, to Robert and Alma Sannes. He attended Banks Elementary School and graduated from Watford City High School in 1935. Cyril attended Wahpeton School of Science, and graduated in May 1940, with a degree in Electrical Science.
In July 1940, Cyril married Mary (Shaw) Sannes. They moved to Roswell, N.M., where they resided for a short time. They then moved back to Watford City, where their twin sons were born. Two years later, they welcomed their first daughter, and two years after that, their second daughter was born.
In 1942, they moved to Billings, where they have resided since. Cyril worked for Gamble Skogmo Warehouse for 39 years, and then part-time for Montgomery Wards for several years. He was a talented handyman who could fix anything. Cyril enjoyed traveling, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Cyril was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; two sisters; and one grandson.
He is survived by Mary Sannes, his wife of 70 years; his four children, Ron (Linda) Sannes of Shepherd, Rollie (Linda) Sannes of Billings, Peggy (Jack) Akerstrom and Kay Larsen of Billings; one brother and one sister; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the loving staff at Valley Healthcare Center. You all provided such wonderful care to Cy and his family, especially in his last days.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 3, at St. Pius X Church. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul, the Montana Rescue Mission, or the charity of one’s choice.
