Choir to present Christmas cantata

Winter is a time that we often complain about the snow and cold, but if one thinks back, some of your fondest Christmas memories most likely involve both cold and snow. Whether it’s the brisk air that flows in as holiday guests arrive or the fun of sledding and making snowmen, winter is a wonderful time filled with many holiday memories.
The First Lutheran Choir is ready to help stir up your Christmas memories with its annual Christmas cantata, ‘Winter’s Grace,’ A Cantata for Christmas by Joseph M. Martin.
It was into the shadows and winter of this world that Christ came to bring us the light and warmth of his salvation. The cantata, ‘Winter’s Grace,’ from renowned composer Joseph M. Martin celebrates this great light and washes the sanctuary with the message of hope, peace, joy and love. The incorporation of familiar carols will engage the listener and make this cantata an enjoyable experience for all listeners.
Attending Martin’s cantata is the perfect way to remember how Christmas came to be while reminding yourself and your family of the true meaning of Christmas.
‘Winter’s Grace’ tells the Christmas story using music, scripture, prayers and poetry.

The First Lutheran Church Choir’s presentation of ‘Winter’s Grace’ is scheduled for Sunday evening, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Watford City First Lutheran Church. Everyone is invited to attend.
