Ella Thomas

Ella Thomas, 90, of Watford City, N.D., died at the Medcenter One Hospital in Bismarck, N.D., Thursday, March 4, 2010. Her funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at First Lutheran Church in Watford City. Pastoral Assistant Rob Favorite officiated and interment was in the Schafer Cemetery, Watford City. Friends may send condolences to the family online at www.fulkersons.com
Ella Josephine (Hagen) Thomas was born April 12, 1919, to John B. and Anna (Thorson) Hagen at Banks, N.D. She was raised on the Missouri River bottoms near Banks along with nine siblings. She attended Timber School.
Ella married Kenneth J. Thomas March 16, 1939, in Watford City, N.D. Kenneth and Ella purchased the farm where Ella enjoyed raising her six girls, taking care of her chickens and working in her garden and flower beds. Ella was known for her home cooked meals and card playing skills.  In 1991, Kenneth and Ella retired and moved into Watford City. They were married for 69 years before his passing in 2009.
She is survived by four daughters, Frances Falkenhagen, Fairview, Mont., Jeanie Thorgramson, Watford City, Bernice (Dave) Shannon, McClusky, N.D., Jackie (Kevin) Sullivan, Watford City, N.D.; 2l grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, l3 great great-grandchildren; three sisters, Birdie Sorrells, Fairview, Mont., Bernice Rongholt, Billings, Mont., Anna White, Great Falls, Mont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Thomas; two daughters, Loretta Thompson and Joan Sivertson; her parents, John and Anna Hagen; sisters, Nicoline, Janna, and Stella; brothers, Henry, John, Harold and Ben Hagen; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
