Ida Olson

Ida M. Olson, 73, of Williston, passed away at her home, surrounded by her family on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 27, 2014.
Her funeral service will be held at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014. Rev. Steve Lundblom will officiate. Interment in Riverview Cemetery will follow the funeral service.
Friends may call at Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. and for the hour preceding the service at the church on Wednesday.
Ida Gilstad was born on Jan. 1, 1941, to Edgar and Effie (Stedman) Gilstad. She was the baby of 13 children. She was raised and educated in Watford City, N.D.
In 1960, Ida was united in marriage to Richard M. Olson in Sidney, Mont. The couple eventually established their home in Williston, N.D., where they raised their six children.  
Ida worked for years at Western Auto and later at the Kensington Nursing Home, where she became well known in the community and came to have everlasting friendships.
Ida enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and gardening. She loved spending time with friends and family, most of all her husband, Richard.
Surviving Ida are her family, her three daughters, Nanette (Steve) Hayden of Williston, Belle (Bob) Walstad of Cascade, Colo., and Holly (Mike) Ware of Glenrock, Wyo.; her three sons, Mark (Charlene) Olson of Williston, N.D., Wade (Karen) Olson of Williston, N.D., and Rex (Rosie) Olson of Williston, N.D.; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Raymond (Linda) Gilstad of Keene, N.D., three sisters, Elenor Metzler of Williston, N.D.,  Lillian Gravos of Watford City, N.D., and Geneva Chambers of Great Falls, Mont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Ida in death were her husband, Richard Olson, two infant children, a daughter, Jackie Olson, and a son, Ward Olson.
