Jeanette Rolfson

Jeanette Ethel Rolfson, 91, of Watford City, N.D., passed away early Tuesday morning, April 19, 2016, at the Good Shepherd Home in Watford City.  
Jeanette was born on June 18, 1924, to Tom and Mollie (Reiersgard) Larson.
She graduated from Sanish High School in 1942. She received her 2-year- teaching certificate from Minot State College and proudly taught at the Reservation and Hawkeye schools.
She married Rasmus Rolfson on January 10, 1949, at her family farmstead. Due to a winter snowstorm, the ceremony was delayed for three days awaiting the arrival of the groom.
They made their home in Watford City. Together they were blessed with three children Kathy, Royce, and Ragene. Jeanette loved spending time with loved ones at the Tobacco Gardens family cabin.
Jeanette had several talents. Given the melody, she was able to play anything on the piano or organ by ear. Sewing was among her other gifts. She was a great cook; buns were her specialty, and she was famous for her Sandbakkels.
Jeanette was a loving mother, and her grandchildren were the light of her life. Her grandchildren will always cherish their special memories with Grandma.
Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Jim) Tschetter, their children Shawn, Greg (Nancy), Jami (Derek) Brauch, and Mari (John Richard) Cole; her son, Royce (Judy) Rolfson, their children Jonathan, Karie (Dan) Holloway, and Douglas; her daughter, Ragene Sovak, her children Derrik (Melissa), Brett (Angela), and Christian; sister, Delores Gilchrist; sister-in-law, Ruth Rolfson; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rasmus Rolfson; her parents, Tom and Mollie (Reiersgard) Larson; a brother, Lynn Larson; and a sister, Amy Gudbranson.
A family service was held at The Good Shepherd Home in Watford City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2016. The Funeral Service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016, at First Lutheran Church in Watford City. Pastor Rob Favorite officiated. Burial will be in Schafer Cemetery.
