Lola Hoehn
Lola Sande Hoehn, 82, of Williston, N.D., died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at Bethel Lutheran Home in Williston. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at Faith United Methodist Church in Williston. Rev. Rod Tkach officiated and interment was held at Riverview Cemetery in Williston.
Lola Maxine Sande was born Sept. 27, 1927, to Knute and Grace (Lundsford) Sande at Williston, N.D. She was raised and educated in Williston and graduated from Williston High School in 1944. As a young gal, “Mac,” as she was commonly referred to, worked for a time at the Luzon Café, Nash Finch, and Farmers Union Oil Company. In 1945, she began what would become a 28-year career as a teller at the First National Bank and Trust in Williston. She was appreciated by her employers, a joy for her colleagues to work with, and a delight to her many customers over the years.
On Jan. 12, 1974, she was united in marriage to Harold Hoehn in Williston, N.D. The couple has continued to make Williston their home.
Lola was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and the Methodist Women’s Society. She was also involved in an investment club and homemakers club. She enjoyed photography and travelling to many of the lower 48 states, Hawaii, and Canada. She had an extensive collection of music boxes and bells.
She is survived by her husband, Harold, of Williston, N.D.; stepson Gary (Barbara) Hoehn of Wetmore, Colo.; stepdaughters, Patricia (Harry Richard) Smith of Montrose, Colo., and Helen (Faron) Correll of Stillwater, Minn.; and grandchildren, Amanda Hoehn, Matthew Hoehn, Aaron Correll, and Amy Correll; sister-in-law, Lois Sande; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families, along with her many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kenneth, Floyd, Ervin, and Norman; and sisters, Margaret Keller and Lois Messmer.
