Lyle Larsen

Lyle Olaf Larsen, 64, of Watford City, N.D., died Friday, Dec. 27, at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck, N.D., after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Lyle was born to Katherine and John Larsen on Feb. 14, 1955, in Watford City. He grew up in Watford City, and graduated with honors from Watford City High School in 1973. Lyle enjoyed his years in Boy Scouts, and earned his Eagle Scout Award.
Lyle loved to learn and attended several universities in North Dakota. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Dakota, and his Pharmacy degree from North Dakota State University.
Lyle worked for several years in Minnesota and California as a relief pharmacist. He returned to North Dakota, and worked in Minot before retiring and returning home to help care for his ailing father.
He enjoyed reading, gardening, swimming, and spending time at the lake with his family.
Lyle was a member of First Lutheran Church in Watford City.
Lyle had a kind heart and enjoyed helping others in need. He had a dry sense of humor, and enjoyed joking around with family and friends. He was passionate about a variety of topics, and shared his opinion freely.
Lyle is survived by his mother, Katherine of Watford City; brother, Larry (Debbie) Larsen, of Watford City; his sister, Laurie Leek, of Aurora, Colo.; and sister, Lisa (Tim) Gerlach of International Falls, Minn.; nieces and nephews, Drew (Rachel) and Naomi Leek, Colin (Katlin) Olivia, and Avery Leek, all of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Michelle (Jayme), Zoe and Esme Carson, of Bismarck, Jenna (Sheldon) Wahlstrom, Chris (Alissa) Larsen, and Sean Larsen, all of Watford City; as well as his uncle, Robert (Glenda) Clark, of Sylvester, Ga.; and cousins, Michael (Dyan), Karen, and Maureen Veseth, of California.
Lyle was preceded in death by his father, John O. Larsen; and grandparents, Benjamin and Easter Clark, of Sylvester, Ga., and Olaf and Laura Larsen, of Keene, N.D.
Funeral services for Lyle were held Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020, at the First Lutheran Church, Watford City, with Pastor Mark Honstein and Pastor Rob Favorite officiating. Interment was in the Schafer Cemetery, Watford City, under the care of the Fulkerson-Stevenson Funeral Home of Watford City.
