Marly Hillman

Marly Marie Hillman, infant daughter of Darin and Nicole Hillman, Horace, N.D., died on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, at Sanford Children’s Hospital, Fargo, N.D.
Marly Marie was the most beautiful, perfect little baby girl. We were so excited to meet her and have her be a part of our family. We got so close, but in the end, God had another plan for our sweet girl. We never heard her cry nor saw her eyes open, although we know they would have been the most beautiful in the world. We got to spend some time with her in the hospital, even gave her a bath, dressed her, took family pictures; and know that there will forever be a part of our family and hearts missing.
Marly will forever be loved and missed by her parents, Darin, Nikki and big brother Thomas of Horace; Grandparents, Dave and Danell Dougherty of Fargo; Grandpa, Don Hillman of Battle Lake, Great-grandma, Elaine Warner of West Fargo; Great-grandma, Margie Hillman of Battle Lake; Uncles, Chris (Christine) Dougherty, Aaron (Kimberly) Dougherty, Seth (Alicia) Dougherty; Dan (Christie) Hillman, Dustin (Michele) Hillman; and Aunt, Darcy (Jarid) Hillman. Marly had 10 cousins looking forward to meeting and playing with her, Carter, Parker, Grady and Turner Dougherty, Elizabeth and Leah Hillman, Tyler, Alyssa and Brandt Thorson, and Wyatt Quam.
Welcoming Marly to Heaven was her Angel Sibling; her Grandma, Cynthia Hillman; and numerous Great-grandparents, including her Great-grandpa, Marlyn, who inspired her beautiful name.
If you are wanting to make a memorial donation in Marly’s name, we encourage the following two options; Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep and Sanford Birthing Center. We were so blessed to have beautiful family photos taken at no charge to us through NILMDTS and a super thoughtful, irreplaceable care package from a compassionate staff at the Sanford Birth Center, of which we will be forever grateful.
We will be forever changed by this experience and are thankful for all who are praying and supporting us now and into the future. Unfortunately, we know this heartbreak will never go away so we will need continued prayers and support to help us get to each new day.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, Sept.5, 2018, at 5 p.m., at St. Benedict Catholic Church, rural Horace, N.D., followed by burial in the church cemetery.
