Olive Quinnell

Funeral service for Olive Harriet Quinnell, 92, Sidney, Mont., is 2:00 P.M., Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at the Faith Alliance Church in Sidney with Pastor Paul Turek officiating. Interment will be in the Richland Memorial Park Cemetery, Sidney, Mont. under the direction of the Fulkerson Funeral Home, of Sidney.
Olive Harriet Kruger was born on Oct. 17, 1919 in Sidney, Mont., the daughter of Harry and Vivian (Barnes) Kruger. Olive grew up on the family ranch and attended grade school at Squaw Gap. She graduated from Sidney Senior High School and assisted her parents on the family ranch.
Olive was united in marriage to Leonard Quinnell on June 2, 1948 in Williston, N.D. They made their home on Leonard’s ranch in the Squaw Gap area. They moved to the Kruger ranch in 1970, which continued to be their home until April of 2001, when they moved to Sidney. She lived in Sidney and also spent some time with family in Trinidad, Colo., until Jan. 2009, when she entered the Good Shepard Home in Watford City, N.D.
Olive was a member of the Faith Alliance Church in Sidney. She was a Special Deputy Sheriff, for McKenzie County, for many years. She was a member of the Sons of Norway, the VFW Post #7756 Ladies Aux., Fifty Years in the Saddle Club and a long time 4-H leader. Olive also served on the Sidney Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and McKenzie REA committees.
Olive loved her family and enjoyed visiting with her many friends. She loved working on many craft projects and weaving rugs on her loom. Olive tremendously enjoyed attending craft shows and meeting new people. She also enjoyed her flowers, gardening, and operating the Country Greenhouse for many years on the family ranch. Olive had a passion for collecting depression era glassware and proudly displayed it in her home.  
Olive peacefully went to be with her Lord on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the Good Shepherd Home in Watford City, ND.
Olive is survived by: her two sons, Pete (Bonnie) Gillette, WY; Jack (Carole) Weston, CO; her five grandchildren: John, Tyrel, and Tammie (Daniel Rosier) Gillette, WY, Leah Woodard of Sidney, MT and Lane (Maria) Trinidad, CO; her three great grandchildren: Branden and Seth, Sidney, Mt, and Olivia, Trinidad, CO; her sister, Hazel Larson, Sidney, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Olive was preceded in death by: her parents and her husband Leonard.
