Patsy Paul

Patsy “Pat” J. Paul, 77, Denver, Colo., passed away peacefully at home on the evening of Dec. 21, 2014 after a lengthy battle with COPD and other health issues. She was born on Oct. 31, 1937 in Watford City, N.D. to much-loved parents, Herman Nicholi and Violet May (Sullivan) Thompson. While attending high school and working at Mabel’s Café in Watford, Patsy met her future husband, Eddie Paul, who worked in the oil field. They wed on Aug. 20, 1955, and were married for over 56 years. Patsy had three children, five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She dedicated her life to caring for her family, and enjoyed sewing, bowling, crocheting, going to rummage and estate sales, volunteering and donating her time to her church, spending time with family and friends, going to Black Hawk/Central City, and helping to raise all five of her grandchildren. Pat was best known for being tremendously patient, kind-hearted, strong-spirited, compassionate, ornery at times (uff-da), and good humored. She will be greatly missed by all her children and grandchildren, but forever cherished in their hearts.
She is survived by all her children, Tim Paul, Denver, Colo., Tammy (Dave) Fritz, Gardner, Kan., and Tara (Dan) Wallner, Riverside, Calif.; her grandchildren, Josh (Alysa) Paul, Aurora, Colo., Derek Teigen, San Francisco, Calif., Nicole Graham, Olathe, Kan., and Cody Jackson, Overland Park, Kan.; step-grandchildren, Missy, Chad, and Kyle, all of Kansas; and her great-grandsons, Kane and Miles Paul, Aurora, Colo. She is also survived by siblings Carlyle (Anna) Thompson, Watford City, N.D., dear sister, Marilyn Caskey, Douglas, Wyo., Robert Thompson, Williston, N.D., David Thompson, Watford City, N.D., Dougie (Debbie) Thompson, Watford City, N.D., and brothers-in-law Carl Olson, Watford City, ND, and Curtis White, Douglas, Wyo. Pat was preceded in death by her husband Eddie Paul, Denver, Colo.; beloved grandson, Jared Teigen, Phoenix, Ariz.; parents, Herman and Violet Thompson, Watford City, N.D.; siblings, Marion Olson, Watford City, N.D., Leonard (Loretta) Thompson, Williston, N.D., Alice White, Douglas, Wyo., Ronnie Thompson, Watford City, N.D.; and brother/sister-in-laws, Tommy Caskey, Douglas, Wyo., and Kathy Thompson, Watford City, N.D.
A Memorial Celebration of Pat’s life and Vigil Service/Viewing will be held Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 at 7 p.m., Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora, Colo., 80014, (303) 745-4418. The Funeral Service/Mass will be held on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015 at 10 a.m., Rosary preceding at 9:30 a.m., and viewing/visitation at 8:45 a.m.; all at the Risen Christ Catholic Parish, 3060 S.
