Watford City’s varsity girls golf team took second place last week at the Northwest Conference Golf Tournament and then came back to win their own invitational on Monday afternoon.
“The girls had to battle rain and wind last Monday for the Northwest Conference Meet,” stated Kelli Taylor, girls’ head coach. “It was a qualifier meet where individuals needed to shoot 150 over par, 87, or better to qualify for State. Unfortunately nobody from Watford City qualified nor did anybody in the meet.”
Individually, Emilie Anderson led the Wolves with a score of 105 and placed fifth.
On Monday, the Wolves took advantage of great weather conditions to win their own invitational with a score of 392.
“Individually, Emilie Anderson had a great day and took first place with a score of 91,” stated Taylor. “Shaunta Miller placed fifth with a score of 96 and Allison Monsen took sixth place with a score of 98.”
