Girls golf team takes 2nd at Stanley Invitational

The Watford City girls varsity golf team opened its 2012 season with a second place finish at the Stanley Invitational on Thursday.
Shaunta Miller shot an 18-hole score of 98 for a fifth place finish to lead the Wolves, who ended the tournament with a score of 433.
“We played very well considering the cold weather and high winds,” stated Kelli Taylor, girls’ head coach.
Other team members scoring at Stanley were Allison Monsen, 106; Bessie Schmitz, 111; Jordan Sparby, 118; Sydney Slais, 120; and Fallon Maston, 134.
The Watford City junior high girls also opened their season last Thursday when they competed in a 9-hole tournament in Hazen.
Brea Jore tied for first with a score of 58, while Karissa Monsen placed third with a score of 59. Kylee Pederson came in with a score of 72.
