Girls take 2nd at State 12U Hockey Tourney

Watford City’s 12U girls hockey team wrapped up its season this past weekend with a second place finish at the State 12U Hockey Tournament in Minot.
The Oilers opened the tournament on a slow note as they fell to Sidney, 6-0. But Watford City rebounded to win their next four games en route to a second place finish.
After dropping their game to Sidney, the Oilers bounced back to skate by Bismarck, 3-1.
Abby McCauley would score all three goals for the Oilers, with Elise Dodds and Gracie Hall getting two assists each.
In their third game of the tournament, Abby McCauley again proved to be the difference for Watford City as she netted two goals to carry the Oilers past Fargo, 2-1.
Gracie Hall had one assist in the game.
In the battle for second place, the Oilers took on Jamestown/Valley City and skated to a 5-3 win.
Abby McCauley had her second hat trick in the tournament as she led the Oilers in scoring with three goals, while Ashleigh Voll and Sheridan Johnson would each score in the win.
Lanie Hall, Gracie Hall and Ashleigh Voll each one assist in the championship game.
