For the second straight year, Katie Mogen of the Watford City Wolves girls basketball team has been selected to the second team of the North Dakota Class B All-State Girls Basketball Team.
Mogen, a 5’9” junior, averaged 18.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.8 steals per game while shooting 57 percent from the field and 60 percent at the free-throw line for the Wolves this past season as she helped guide Watford City to a 22-2 season record. The Wolves won the District 15 Tournament and finished the year as the Region 8 Runners-up.
“Katie has continued to improve on all facets of her game. She has a good nose for the ball as she led us in steals and she has become real good in distributing the ball,” states John Zenz, Watford City Wolves varsity girls basketball coach. “When teams try to key on her she has gotten real good at getting the ball to an open teammate. She was second in assists for us which doesn’t always happen with all post players. She did lead us in scoring and rebounding again this year.”
All-State First Team: Hannah Stewart and Gabbie Bohl of Minot Ryan; Fallyn Freije, Lakota-Edmore;  Shaice Marx, Thompson; and Rylee Nudell, Maple Valley.
All-State Second Team: Sydney Bentz, Grant County; Madison Erickson, Berthold; Hannah Jacobs, Divide County; Katie Mogen, Watford City; Cheyenne Packineau, Parshall; Macie Romsdal, Central Cass; Hannah Schlecht, Sargent Central; Helen Schuster, Midway-Minto; Paige Schmidt, Kidder County; Alanna Sickler, Dickinson Trinity; and Alli Vandal, Rolla.
