Last week, the McKenzie County Public School District No. 1, along with the Dickinson and Minot school districts received some pretty exciting news in the form of their being selected to receive $6,666,666 in grants from the state of North Dakota to build new skills centers in their communities.
While the awards will go a long way toward the construction of those much-needed career and technical training centers, school administrators in these three communities have to be confused as to why the North Dakota Department of Career and Technical Education chose not to fully fund these projects. And the schools aren’t the only ones scratching their heads as are many legislators and other elected officials.
