A few simple questions will decide this years Presidential election. Are you better off than you were four years ago? Were Donald Trump’s or Joe Biden’s policies better for your pocketbook? I can’t find a single public opinion poll that suggests people are happy with the economy or their own personal financial situation under Biden. When you delve into the data, you quickly see an ugly picture. But the Biden-friendly media rarely shares the facts. No amount of happy talk about “creating jobs” or egregious sums of federal money being thrown around can change the facts.
Put simply, everything costs more. Prices have risen 18.6 percent since Biden took office! The latest Consumer Price Index data shows year-over-year inflation increased again last month to 3.2 percent - twice the rate compared to when Biden took office and higher than expected. Inflation has averaged 5.6 percent year-over-year under Biden, more than double the level of inflation under any of the last four presidents. Under President Trump, inflation averaged 1.9 percent.
