Picture this: It’s 1889. Dakota Territory homesteaders stare down endless prairies, dreaming of farms, families, and freedom. But what if *they* were in NIMBY mode - “Not In My Backyard”? No railroads. No roads. No progress. Our beautiful state? A ghost town.
Fast-forward: Imagine NIMBY blocking our interstates, power lines, water systems, or the 30,000 miles of pipelines that fueled our boom. We’d be back to trucks crashing off icy roads and trains derailing in blizzards - record chaos, empty wallets, broken backs.
God Almighty blessed North Dakota with enormous resources: oil, gas, fertile soil. Today, our Legacy Oil Fund rockets toward $20 billion in sovereign wealth - yours, belonging to every taxpayer. This isn’t pie-in-the-sky. It’s the key to zero property taxes, zero income taxes, and Alaska-style dividend checks - $1,000+ annually per family, forging generational wealth for your kids and grandkids.
But NIMBY? It’s a contagion. My version: “NEVER IN MY BLESSED YEARS” will I believe wise Dakotans cave to selfishness, dooming tomorrow. Unfathomable!
Worse, as bad as Team NIMBY is, the BANANA crowd surges: ”Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anything.” Picture it - nothing built, ever, anywhere. Homes? Blocked. Schools? No. Hospitals? Forget it. Most BANANA folks are good-hearted, misled by unscrupulous lawyers who make Rockefeller and J.P. Morgan look like kindergarten teachers handing out gold stars. These legal robber barons rake millions in delay fees, class-action suits, and endless appeals. They don’t care about your backyard - they profit from paralyzing it.
