There are very few things in life that cost less from one year to the next. Groceries aren’t much cheaper. Insurance isn’t cheaper. Utilities aren’t cheaper. For most families, the monthly math has been getting tougher for a few years thanks to reckless inflation-inducing policies from the failed Joe Biden regime.
Which is why the surprise showing up in mailboxes across North Dakota this month feels a little like Christmas came early.

Property tax statements are arriving, and for tens of thousands of homeowners, the news is genuinely good.
I did the math on mine.  Despite a $26,000 increase in valuation, our property taxes dropped by about $800 compared to last year. I’ve talked to others who are saving $1,200…$1,600…and in some cases the amount they’ll pay is zero. As in, no property tax bill at all for 2025.
That doesn’t happen by accident.

While President Donald Trump is pushing an affordability agenda nationally - already showing up at the gas pump - North Dakota lawmakers were already on that mission last year. The result is real, measurable relief for homeowners, and it’s right there on your tax statement.

Look for the line marked PRC. That’s the Primary Residence Credit, which jumped from $500 to $1,600 thanks to the Republican majority in the Legislature and strong leadership from Governor Kelly Armstrong. That increase alone is making a dramatic difference. If your property tax obligation is less than $1,600, the credit covers it entirely.
