A ‘Mile-Long Smile’ coming soon to WCHS counseling team

For Jennifer Lunde, the journey to Watford City High School is about more than just a change of scenery, it’s about making sure every student feels “seen” and supported. Lunde, who is making the move alongside her husband from Minot, brings a wealth of experience and a clear vision for her new role at WCHS. While her husband Mitch prepares for his role as the new Activities Director for the 26-27 school year, Jennifer is ready to offer a different kind of leadership at Watford City High School: one focused on trust, a “mile-long smile,” and a dedication to student well-being.
For Jennifer, the transition to Watford City will provide her an opportunity for making meaningful connections. Her primary objective as she steps into the counseling department is simple: getting to know the faces behind the names. “Relationship and trust building will be my main priority,” Jennifer says. “The most important [aspect] is getting to know students, families, and staff.” Coming from a larger district like Minot, Jennifer plans to spend her first months listening and learning before suggesting enhancements. “My hope is to first learn programs and strategies WCHS already have in place and if necessary perhaps enhance with my own experiences,” she explains.
