Alexander Mock Trial Team heading to Delaware

On March 23, 2024, students from Alexander High School, Legacy High School, and Sheyenne High School participated in the State Bar Association of North Dakota’s (SBAND) Virtual High School Mock Trial Competition.
Judge volunteers as Presiding Judges were: Trent Barkus, Ryan Hestbeck and Nicholas Nelson. The attorney volunteer scoring judges of the competition were: William Behrmann, Carey Goetz, Haley Finch, Matthew Menge, Brooke Chilla, and Justin Balzer.
The SBAND High School Mock Trial Program is an exciting law-related education program that introduces students to the American legal system and provides a challenging opportunity for personal growth and achievement. The program brings together attorneys, judges, students, and teachers from across the state. Students learn the details of the trial process and procedure and improve skills in communication, reasoning, critical thinking, public speaking, and teamwork. Students have a rare opportunity to work side-by-side with attorneys and judges.
Alexander High School placed first in the state, and because of this, they have the opportunity to go to the national competition in Delaware.
