Final preparations are being made for the 7th Annual Bakken Rocks CookFest, which this year will be held in Alexander on July 14.
“This event remains a favorite among our companies and a favorite among the communities in the west,” says Tessa Sandstrom, Communications manager for the North Dakota Petroleum Council and organizer for the event. “This year is especially important to our members. With the drop in prices and slowdown in activity, we want to tell and show residents that we are still here as part of our communities.”
The Bakken Rocks CookFest in Alexander will include a free barbecue, Bakken Basics Education Sessions and live entertainment by Jessie Veeder with Lonesome Willy.
More than 35 companies are slated to participate in the event, which is free and open to the public. There will also be games and activities for kids, so families are encouraged to attend.
The Bakken Rocks CookFest will begin at 2:30 p.m. with the Bakken Basics Education Session at the Alexander School, while the barbecue and live entertainment will run from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Alexander City Park.
