North Dakota farmers push through dry conditions

Dry conditions are testing the resilience of North Dakota farmers as they race to complete the harvest. Indeed - they made significant progress with the harvest last week, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Report of October 28. However, dry conditions remain a concern across the state.
Harvest Update
• Soybeans: The soybean harvest reached 95 percent completion, exceeding both last year’s 92 percent and the five-year average of 82 percent.
• Corn: The Corn harvest is well underway at 71 percent, significantly ahead of the 54 percent recorded last year and exceeding the historical average of 52 percent.
• Sugarbeets: The Sugarbeet harvest reached 95 percent, nearly matching last year’s 96 percent and surpassing the five-year average of 85 percent.
