For the second year in a row, the Bakken Classic Junior Livestock Show was held at the McKenzie County Ag Expo.
According to Event Coordinator, Riley Faller, 156 youth exhibitors showed 354 animals on June 29 and July 1.
Faller explained that the Bakken Classic is a part of the North Dakota Junior Point Show Association, which allows kids to exhibit livestock through the year. “I actually showed in the first Bakken Classic when it was at the McKenzie County Fairgrounds, and last year the opportunity came to be on the other side of showing livestock.”
Growing up in McKenzie County, Faller began showing animals at the young age of five. Faller says it helped her develop important skills such as responsibility and dedication, which have aided in her successes thus far.
Her knowledge and personal experience showing livestock opened the door to manage the Bakken Classic in 2023 for the first time.
