Batteries and e-waste still causing problems at landfill

Batteries and electronic waste has been a problem for the McKenzie County Landfill for more than a year. In spite of the best efforts of those who work there, fires have been known to break out regularly and in March of 2023, the issue was brought to the attention of the County Commissioners and an effort was made to increase public awareness of the issue.
At that time, The Farmer ran a story highlighting the issues the landfill was dealing with and attempting to increase public awareness of the ongoing issue.
