For the 19th year in a row, Watford City’s Main Street will be jam-packed with mouth-watering ribs, classic cars, vendors and musical entertainment during the Best of the West Ribfest event happening this Friday, Aug. 11.
Attendees will be able to take in a wide variety of vendors beginning at 10 a.m., while teams are busy preparing to serve up a delicious lunch beginning at 11 a.m., and strategically smoking thousands of pounds of delectable ribs.
Cornhole lovers, who are reportedly growing in numbers every year, can cheer on their favorite teams during the 3rd Annual Bones & Bags Cornhole Tournament on Main Street starting at 11 a.m.
Watford City Rough Rider Center Events and Recreation Director Josh Nollmeyer says the cornhole tournament is gaining popularity every year. “The western side of the state does an awesome job coming out and supporting this event, we also have a team from Rapid City, S.D., that has participated for the last two years.”
According to Nollmeyer, an average of 18 two-person teams compete for the $1,000 grand prize.
