Federal court closes Dakota Access case

A five-year lawsuit that threatened the closure of the Dakota Access Pipeline came to an end on Tuesday, June 24, when U.S. District Judge James Boasberg dismissed the case that was filed by the Standing Rock  Sioux and other groups. In his ruling, Boasberg stated that the tribes had failed to prove the line’s continued operation would cause irreversible harm.
