Highway 83 and 23 vehicle accident kills two horses, injures one driver

The North Dakota Highway Patrol released a report of a minor injury crash that occurred on Friday, March 7, at approximately 7:17 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 83 and Highway 23.
According to the report, a 2019 Ford Econoline, driven by 20 year-old Ian Lindgren of Farmington, Minn., failed to yield at an intersection marked with a stop sign and collided with a 2011 GMC Sierra towing a livestock trailer, driven by 34 year-old Jessica Gjovig of Fortuna, N.D.


Gjovig suffered minor injuries and was transported to Trinity Health in Minot. Two horses she was transporting died at the scene of the accident, while another was transported.
Lindgren has been charged with interstate driver not 21 years of age; no valid medical card; logbook not current; operating without proper operating authority; driving in violation of 14-hour rule; failed to yield right of way at intersection marked with a stop sign.


Gjovig has been charged with driving without a license. This crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
