Jepson joins McKenzie County NDSU Extension office

Shantell Jepson has joined North Dakota State University Extension as the Family and Community Wellness Agent in McKenzie County.
Jepson will work to enhance the lives of individuals, families and communities through educational experiences and encourage leadership and service to the community. She will also deliver programming on nutrition, healthy aging, leadership and civic engagement, parent and family education, and personal and family finance.
“After interning for McKenzie County last summer, I knew I wanted to come back,” says Jepson. “I am excited to get to know the community and 4-H’ers. I hope to be able to provide educational experiences that will last a lifetime.”
Jepson gained experience with Extension while working in three different Extension offices. Most recently, during the summer of 2022, she worked in the McKenzie County office. During the summer of 2020, she worked in the University of Minnesota Extension office in North Branch, Minnesota, and prior to that she served as an intern with the UMN Extension office in Breckenridge, Minnesota. She also served as a preschool teacher/daycare assistant and as a paraeducator at Killdeer High School.
Jepson earned a bachelor’s degree in human development and family science with a minor in women and gender studies from NDSU.
“Shantell’s desire to be an Extension agent, combined with her 4-H and past work experience make her an excellent fit for the position,” says Jim Gray, NDSU Extension’s west district director. “I am extremely excited for Shantell to join NDSU Extension in the west district.”
