LEC to Outline Coal’s Future at Annual Meeting
The Lignite Energy Council will host its Annual Meeting Nov. 12-13, at Bismarck State College’s Advanced Technology Center, bringing together industry, policy, and education leaders to discuss the future of North Dakota’s lignite industry.
KFYR-TV’s Kevin Lawrence will serve as master of ceremonies. The event opens Wednesday with a networking lunch and a fireside chat featuring Lignite Energy Council President and CEO Jonathan Fortner alongside Minnkota Power Cooperative’s Mac McLennan and Basin Electric’s Todd Brickhouse. They’ll reflect on industry progress, leadership transitions, and a shared vision for advancing lignite’s role in North Dakota’s energy mix.
Afternoon sessions include updates from state regulators, remarks from Governor Kelly Armstrong on energy policy priorities, and member-only briefings from mines and power plants.
