Local candidates urge residents to participate in upcoming primary

The Primary Election is going to be held on June 11, 2024. Historically, only 24 percent of eligible voters turn out for the Primary Election, and in the last five elections, three of them had less than a 10 percent voter turnout.
This year, McKenzie County will be voting for a U.S. Senator, the Representatives in Congress, State senator, State Representative, Governor and Lieutenant Governor, state auditor, state treasurer, insurance commissioner, Superintendent of Public Instruction, county commissioners, and many local government openings.
In an effort to encourage voters to participate in the primary, The Farmer has reached out to those running for office and asked them to share their thoughts on the importance of the Primary Elections.
