In a remarkable feat that underscores dedication and perseverance, Tim Hartranft, owner of Watford City Karate and Jiu-Jitsu, earned his Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from the esteemed Master Carlos Machado on August 24, 2024.
This achievement is not only a personal milestone for Hartranft, but also a moment of pride for the local community.
Mike Guenther, a fellow instructor, as well as a student of Hartranft, stated, “This is a huge accomplishment for anyone. At a minimum, it takes an average of 10 years of dedicated training and studying to achieve the rank of Black Belt. Professor Tim has worked tirelessly for the opportunity to test for his Black Belt and has spent years honing his craft to reach this point. We are all extremely proud of Professor Tim and this momentous achievement! It was an absolute honor to be present for his testing and to watch as he was awarded his Black Belt.”
