Local woman launches children’s activity center in Watford City

A new indoor children’s activity center opened its doors in Watford City on Monday, Oct. 14.
Ellie Schmitz, owner of The Playhouse, told The Farmer that she came up with the idea last winter.
Having a child herself, she felt there was not enough for young kids to do in the winter, let alone engaging activities for older children.
During the grand-opening, Schmitz says cookies were enjoyed by parents as well as the children.
With a focus on keeping The Playhouse affordable, Schmitz says that the pricing is very reasonable, even with having additional children.
There are five spacious activity rooms with different activities in each geared toward different ages and abilities.
