During the June 18 McKenzie County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) meeting, CEO of McKenzie Health, Peter Edis gave a presentation outlining the growth of the hospital and the future plans for enhanced patient care and it was determined that McKenzie Health will be receiving $5 million from McKenzie County to help cover the costs of a new dialysis unit and to purchase a building in Watford City for additional space.
Edis began his presentation stating, “Rural healthcare is in crisis across the country and what we have here is exceptional. The reason we have made such progress is because of [the support of the BOCC], the community, and the healthcare team.”
He stated that due to the support given by the BOCC, McKenzie Health is in a better position than many of the other rural hospitals within the state.
