MHA Nation expanding infrastructure in Mandaree

For almost two years there has been a new skyline taking shape in Mandaree and what is rising from the land is an impressive structure.
The Swift Eagle James G. Johnson Activity Center and the Mandaree Wellness Center will include an assisted living facility, community center, and clinic. The project is set to be completed by summer 2026 according to contacts with the West Segment office of the MHA Nation.
Ground-breaking took place in late July of 2023 and included blessing of the land by tribal elders and a drum circle.
A clan wall also is being constructed and overlooks a geographical landmark held sacred to tribal members known as Eagle’s Nest.
